    Warehouse Management Application

The Warehouse Management application, provided by Microsoft ®, can be installed on a mobile device and connected to a Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations environment. It can be used to perform various processes to improve the efficiency of workflows within a warehouse.

The following are some key features and benefits of the Warehouse Management application:

    1. Label Printing: Users can print Licence Plate labels directly from their mobile device.

    2. Real-Time Data Access: Users can access real-time stock data, which ensures access to accurate stock levels and improved decision-making.

    3. Barcode Scanning: The app supports barcode scanning for tasks such as receiving, picking, and shipping, which speeds up processes and reduces human error.

    4. Less restrictive workflow: Warehouse workers can view and manage their tasks from anywhere within the warehouse using their mobile devices rather than accessing a terminal in a fixed location.

    5. User-friendly interface: The app features an intuitive interface, making it easier for staff to navigate and complete tasks quickly.

Overview of Label Printing Using the Warehouse Mobile Device

A key feature of the Warehouse Mobile Device is its ability to trigger the printing of the Licence Plate label.

Labels play a crucial role in enhancing the functionality of the Warehouse Mobile Device app. This is how they work:

    1. Dynamic information: Labels can dynamically pull information from Dynamics 365, such as item descriptions, quantities, and locations. This ensures that the data displayed is always up-to-date.

    2. Label designs: Businesses can customize label layouts so the data is displayed in a specific way.

    3. User guidance: Labels can also provide workers with guidance, indicating where items should be stored or how they should be handled.

    4. Barcode labels: Labels often contain barcodes that can be scanned using a mobile device. This allows for quick identification of items during receiving, picking, packing, and shipping processes.

By leveraging labels effectively, warehouse operations can achieve greater accuracy and efficiency, ultimately improving overall productivity.

Labels Created Using Standard Dynamics 365 Functionality

A label design can be created using standard Dynamics and ZPL (Zebra Programming Language) code, which can then be sent to a Zebra printer. Needing to use ZPL code leads to several limitations:

    1. Complexity of code: ZPL can be complex and may require a steep learning curve for users unfamiliar with programming languages, making it challenging for non-technical users to create or modify labels.

    2. Limited user interface: ZPL lacks a graphical user interface for label design, which can make it less user-friendly compared to dedicated label design software.

    3. Limited graphics support: While ZPL supports basic graphics and images, it restricts image formats and resolutions. Complex graphics or high-resolution images may not print well.

Labels Created Using Lasernet FO Connector Functionality

Lasernet FO Connector provides an alternative solution that addresses the limitations mentioned above. This is achieved by:

    1. Reducing the reliance on coding skills, making it easier for non-technical users to create and modify label designs without extensive training

    2. User-friendly interface: Fields, shapes, and images can be dragged and dropped onto a label design, providing a user-friendly interface.

    3. High-definition images: The image DPI (dots per inch) for logos and graphics can be configured up to 300 DPI.

    4. Support for EMF and ZPL: Increased compatibility with different printers.

    Types of Labels

Two Lasernet queries can be used for Warehouse labels:

    • The LACWHSPrintLabels is used for Licence Plate labels.

    • The LACWHSWaveLabels is used for Wave labels.
