Configure External Authentication for Lasernet Config Server

To configure Lasernet for Microsoft Entra ID user authentication, you must appropriately configure Lasernet Config Server. You can do this through the Lasernet Service Manager, or (if necessary) by modifying the relevant ServerSettings.json file.

Regardless of the method used, after you make these changes to the Lasernet Config Server configuration, the change in authentication method will be live. Users will be able to log in to the Lasernet system using their Microsoft Entra ID credentials and identity. However, unless you configure additional roles, only users who are assigned the Admin.Global role in Entra ID will be allowed access to Lasernet.

Configure External Authentication

Use the Lasernet Config web app if possible. Else, you can modify the ServerSettings.json file.

Use the Lasernet Service Manager

Refer to the Full Installation and Setup Process section of Configure Lasernet Config Server in the Lasernet 11 Installation and Setup Guide. Skip to the instructions in that section that describe how to use Lasernet Service Manager to:

• Configure certificate bindings for Lasernet Config Server.

• Configure external authentication of Lasernet users.

Modify the ServerSettings.json file

In systems that are automatically deployed, or if it is not possible to use Lasernet Service Manager, you can configure the Config Server by manually modifying its ServerSettings.json file.
