What Third-Party Applications Can Cause Issues with Lasernet Core?
Applies to: Lasernet Core 10, Lasernet Core 11
While Lasernet Core is designed to work on every machine that meets the recommended system specifications, some tools and software can cause issues with it. Antivirus tools, backup applications, and anything else that directly accesses (and possibly locks) folders on the Lasernet Core server should be set up to ignore the following folder:
Lasernet Core 10 and Lasernet Core 11.0:
%ProgramData%\Formpipe Software\Lasernet <version>Substitute
<version>for the installed version of Lasernet.
Lasernet Core 11.1 and later:
%ProgramData%\Lasernet\Lasernet 11
As a general good practice, all folders that Lasernet Core frequently writes and reads data from should be removed from these utilities. For example, the runtime directory as mentioned above, because some antivirus software ‘locks’ files while scanning them, which can prevent Lasernet Core from processing these files.
Best practice is also to configure these tools to ignore the .grab folder because it can be filled with thousands of tiny files that take such utilities a long time to process. In addition, the folders used as the location for File Input or File Output workflow modules in the Lasernet Core configuration should be excluded because they normally have a lot of data going through them.
