    Article summary

A Test checkpoint defines a single report test setup.

The following settings are needed on the report to create and use a Test checkpoint:

    • Set Archive to Default or Manual to archive a report. This setting is used to archive the report.

    • Set the Save XML toggle button to Yes. The XML file is saved for comparing the Test checkpoint with the test result.

    • Do not leave the Table for archive field blank, otherwise, you will get the following error when creating a Test checkpoint for the report:

    Error

Checkpoint archive does not have linked reference record. Make sure that report has 'Table for archive' set and that archive used for checkpoint has reference record to it.

    • Do not leave the Resend menu item blank, otherwise, you will get the following error message when running a test and using Force rerun:

    Error

No object specified on menu item

If you are using a custom Lasernet Query (not a replacement Lasernet Query), set this to LACRunController.

    Create a Test Checkpoint

A Test checkpoint can be created once a report has been run and an archive record has been created. A Test checkpoint can be created from:

    • The Lasernet report form

    • The Lasernet Archive

Create a Test Checkpoint from the Lasernet Report

    Follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to Lasernet > Common > Reports.

    2. Select a report, and then click Testing > New checkpoint.

This will open a form displaying a record for the last time that this report was archived. In this example, the PurchPurchaseOrderReplacement was last archived:

    • On 15/07/2024 at 11:25:46

    • Run by Admin

    • Printed to Screen

This data can be used to check that you are creating a Test checkpoint for the correct archived report run. The Checkpoint and Description fields are predefined for you. However, these can be changed if needed.

    1. Click Create to create a Test checkpoint for this report run.

The Test checkpoint form will automatically open once the Test checkpoint is created. Here is the Test checkpoint record in the Test checkpoint form:
