Before you can start working with Lasernet FO Connector, ensure you complete the following settings.
All users of Lasernet FO Connector shall be assigned to user roles. To view and access the roles:
Navigate to System administration > Security > Assign users to roles.
In the Filter field, type 'Lasernet' to view the roles.
Alternatively, you can assign Lasernet roles to users by following these steps:
Navigate to System administration > Users > Users.
Double-click to select a user.
Click +Assign roles.
Choose the roles you would like to assign to the user and click OK.
The following table describes the roles:
Role | Description |
Lasernet administrator | This role provides full access to Lasernet FO Connector. It provides a possibility to configure reports for Lasernet and add additional data to the Lasernet reports, as well as to select both standard and Lasernet destinations in the printer dialog. The role also implies providing access to the Lasernet archive. The following menus under the Lasernet module are available for users of the Lasernet administrator role: Copy Lasernet reports & configuration to other companies (Common), Report Life span, Label references, Lasernet servers, Report group, Default printers, Setup Default Selections, Lasernet CE Connector Setup, Entry reports. |
Lasernet advanced user | This role implies selecting Lasernet and standard destinations in the printer dialog but does not provide any further access to Lasernet Connector. A user of this role can also access the Lasernet archive. If the reports are not configured for Lasernet, a user of this role can only have access to the standard destinations (SSRS). |
Lasernet Cloud Print user | This role allows downloading the configuration file and printers from the Lasernet Cloud printer. |
Lasernet D365CE service | This role is required for the User Id in the Azure Active Directory applications (unless the user is assigned the System administrator role in Lasernet FO Connector). |
Lasernet Designer | This role is used to control access to embedded/serverless functionality. |
Lasernet printers manager | This role allows managing and viewing printers and mapping Connector User across all printers or users. For users of this role, the check box Edit all/Manage all is shown on LACPrinters and LACCloudPrintUserPrinterMap. |
Lasernet user | This role only provides access to the Lasernet destinations within the printer dialog and the Lasernet archive if the reports are configured for Lasernet. If the reports are not configured for Lasernet, a user of this role can have access to the standard destinations (SSRS). |
Lasernet XML Import/Export service | This role is used to control access to XML imports and exports. |
Once users are assigned with proper roles, you can start the configuration process. To this end, navigate to the Lasernet module.
