Lasernet Cloud Print: Printer Profile Sample Setup (Legacy)

    • PDF

    Article summary

Use the following step-by-step instructions as an example of setting up Printer profiles.

    1. Install a printer driver on the Lasernet server (it does not matter whether the Lasernet server is installed in the Cloud or on-premises). You must do the same for all printer drivers you wish to use for printing. Therefore, if four different HP printers use the same HP Universal printer driver, you only need to install one printer with that name and printer driver.

    Note

The printer's name must be the same as the printer driver's name.

    1. Open your Lasernet configuration in Lasernet Developer.

    2. Navigate to Modules.

    3. Right-click the EMF to Raw engine called Cloud Printer Driver, and then select Duplicate.

    1. Ensure to type the right name for the printer driver for which you need to create Printer profiles, in the Name field. See the following example:

If you are not sure about the name, try checking the Advanced tab of the Printer Properties dialog. Otherwise, open Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations and print a report to the Cloud printer. Afterwards, you can check the Grab file.

    Note

Grab mode needs to be enabled. See the Lasernet manual to get more information about grab mode.

    1. Open the Setup tab and choose the printer you need from the drop-down list.

    1. Open the Destination tab and add the Azure Storage Printer record.

    1. Close the dialog.

    2. Open the Pass-Through engine called Printer selection.

    1. Open the Destination tab and add the new EMF to Raw engine. Ensure that you add a Criteria that is unique to this Destination. If needed, change the existing Destination Criteria so that they are unique as well. See the following example:

    1. Close the dialog.

    2. Open Printer Profiles.

    1. Add the profiles you need.

    1. Click the Update button on the top menu to update the Lasernet server.

    2. Open Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations and navigate to Lasernet > Setup > Lists > Printers.

    1. On the Action pane, click Update Printers.

    1. Check whether the new printer you have added is on the list.

    2. Navigate to Lasernet > Setup > Lists > Printer Profiles.

    1. Check whether the profiles you have added are on the list.

    2. You can go ahead and print a report to your cloud printer and select one of the profiles.
