Integrate Autoform DM with Microsoft Dynamics CE via Iframes
This guide covers installing and configuring the iframe-based solution for integrating Autoform DM with Dynamics CE.
It also outlines the core security considerations, reviewing the various attack vectors present and for each, identifying the risk and whether there are safeguards in place to prevent it.
This document is written with the assumption that DM 10.2.1 or later is used.
Prerequisites
The following are required in order to complete the setup process:
A Dynamics CE instance
Admin access to Dynamics
An Autoform DM instance
Must be version 10.2.1 or greater
SSO is optional
Integration script
Solution Summary
The integration solution discussed in this document is based on using iframes to embed Autoform DM applications within Dynamics.
Using the native iframe components that Dynamics provides, together with the integration script provided by Formpipe, search applications and import applications can be run from within a form, and form-fields can be linked to the inputs for these applications.
SSO is optional, but if enabled for Autoform DM this allows for seamless access to the embedded integrations without additional authentication, as well as allowing security controls to be implemented based on the Azure identity.
How to Use This Guide
Follow the installation instructions on the Installation page.
However, to avoid creating a Dynamics configuration that prevents the integration from working correctly, read Dynamics Security Controls.
To learn about the various attack vectors present and (for each) to learn about the risk and whether there are safeguards in place to prevent it, see Iframe Attacks and Preventions.
