    Article summary

This article provides instructions on how to add the BLOB Text field to your report.

In this example, we will use Sales Order.

    Note

This applies to version 3.0.8 only.

    Prerequisites

    Ensure you have the following:

    • The report in Report selection is enabled.

    • A Lasernet Form.

    • Grab mode enabled on your Lasernet server.

    Steps

    1. Sign in to Business Central.

    2. In the top ribbon bar, select Lasernet Document Management (if you cannot see it, search for it) > Setup > Document Layout.

    1. Click the New button to add a new Document Layout.

If you already have a Document Layout for the Sales Order, skip to step 6.

    1. Fill out the header section:

    1. Ensure you have selected the Header (Sales Header) record.

    2. Within the Fields section, add a new record and field number 200.

    1. Close all forms and navigate to a Sales Order where you have a Work Description, or add it to a Sales Order. Print it to Lasernet.

    1. Open your Lasernet Developer and your configuration.

    2. Open your form. In this example, we will use the Sales Order Confirmation.

    1. Load your grab file. In most cases, you can click F12, and the system will download the latest grab file.

    2. Scroll down in the left window and locate SalesHeader and the BLOB element (it is converted to a Base64 string).

    1. In this case, we will create a Pattern so the rest of the lines can be pushed down depending on the size of the incoming text. Select the Pattern tool from the left menu and click the element above the Base64 code.

    1. Click the Output tab and change the setting according to the following picture. When complete, close the form.

    1. From the left menu bar, select the Rearrange tool.

    2. Click the element with the Base64 code, and then place the Rearrange where you want it in the output panel.

    1. Double-click the new Rearrange, click the Object tab, and then check the Script checkbox.

    1. In the lower right window, type "Base64.decode(CurrentText);".

    1. Check the Run as first pass checkbox.

    1. Close the form. Your layout should look similar to this:

    1. Save the form, Commit, and Deploy your configuration.
