Access Rights
You will get the following error message if you try to fix reports before completing the setup in this Access rights section:
Error
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The permissions granted to user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE' are insufficient for performing this operation. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permission granted to user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE' are insufficient for performing this operation...
The following steps can be used to correct Access rights:
Ensure that the NETWORK SERVICE has Write access to the file path PackagesLocalDirectory and its subfolders. You may need to add the NETWORK SERVICE to the Security tab by following these steps:
Log in to the Dynamics server, open a file directory, navigate to the K drive, and open the AosService folder.
Right-click the PackagesLocalDirectory folder, then click Properties.
Select the Security tab, then click Edit.
Click Add.
Add NETWORK SERVICE, then click OK.
Select NETWORK SERVICE and ensure Write is checked.
Click OK.
Click OK.
Ensure that NETWORK SERVICE has the Browser role and the Publisher role for the Dynamics folder in the Report Server Configuration Manager. This can be done by following these steps:
Open the Report Server Configuration Manager.
Enter the Server Name if it has not defaulted into the field.
Click Connect.
Select the Web Portal URL tab.
Click Apply.
Click the URL.
Your internet browser will open (you may experience problems with Internet Explorer - you may want to choose an alternative internet browser such as Edge).
Select the Manage folder icon from the top menu.
Click Add group or user.
Enter NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE in the Group or user field.
Select Browser, then click OK.
The NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE has now been given the Browser security role.
Click SQL Server Reporting Services to go back to the Home folder.
Click the … (three dots) button on the Dynamics folder.
Select Manage.
Click Edit on NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE to add another role.
Check the Publisher role, then click Apply.
NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE now has the Publisher role.
