This article covers some common questions related to Autoform DM clustering.
Note
This applies to version 9 and later.
For more information, see Autoform DM Clustering.
Is It Possible to Use a Third-Party Load Balancer?
For a fully supported solution, we recommend using our provided installer and load balancer configuration. However, it is possible to use a third-party load balancer by simply avoiding the installation steps during your installation process and then adjusting your deployment as shown below:

What Ports Do the Various Nodes in a Cluster Use?
Available here.
How Do I Manually Specify the Network Interface to Use for Particular Port Bindings?
Available here.
Is It Possible to Upgrade a Customer from a Standalone to a Cluster Deployment?
Yes, so long as you have an existing database that can be remotely accessed from each node and a remotely accessible file storage location. It’s just a case of installing against the DB/archive folder and modifying the installation guide where appropriate.
Do I Need to Apply the License to Every Autoform DM Node in the Cluster?
No, you need to apply the license to only one Autoform DM node. After you do that, the whole cluster is licensed because licensing state is shared between nodes.
On the Licensing Page in Autoform DM, What Value Should hardware.name Have?
For a clustered Autoform DM system, the hardware.name license property should be the name of the database server. Check that this matches the server details in the Autoform DM database connection properties.
Do I Need to Stop Cluster Nodes Temporarily While Updating the Autoform DM License?
It is recommended that only one Autoform DM node is running when you update the license. After you successfully update the license, you can start the other cluster nodes again.
