Clear Out FailedJobs, Temporary Files, and Database LN9
On occasion, there may be a need to clear the Lasernet database's temporary files. The reasons can vary, but predominantly, they are:
There may be too many FailedJobs slowing down the Lasernet application.
A Lasernet job keeps running through, stuck in a loop, and persistently causes Lasernet to crash.
Follow these steps to clean up your Lasernet application:
Ensure Inputs are paused, as you do not want to clear the database with jobs running through Lasernet. Wait for the jobs to finish processing through Lasernet ( If in doubt, check Lasernet Monitor).
Open Services and stop the Lasernet service or end it via Task Manager.
Tip
Note the name of the service before you stop it.
Clear the folders marked by the red boxes in the screenshot below and start the service again.
Note
Use the ProgramData folder, for example,
C:\ProgramData\Formpipe Software\Lasernet 9\Service
to navigate to the Service folder. Then, open the subfolder of the service name. This will differ depending on what you have named your service.
Note
The Programdata folder might not be visible because it may be hidden. In that case, type “Programdata” in the Search field.
The Databases folder only holds information about FailedJobs, ScheduledJobs, PauseJobs, etc. It does not contain any information about the Lasernet configuration. If you use SQL Server as a database for running jobs, you will have to delete/rename the database yourself via your preferred SQL Tool.
Start the service back, and you should see that the service database has been re-created.
Resume any inputs.
Clear the Configuration
If the above process has not solved the issue, you can clear the running configuration loaded to the service. In that case, open the CurrentConfiguration folder and delete the files and folders highlighted in the following screenshot:
Then, Commit and Patch from Lasernet Developer to reload the configuration to the service.
